The EU ENERGY STAR programme follows an Agreement between the Government of the US and the European Community (EU) to co-ordinate energy labeling of office equipment. It is managed by the European Commission. US partner is the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), that started the scheme in the US in 1992 (European Council decision PDF (97kb).
